Liability & Cargo Insurance
How do we protect your assets during long-haul transit? MAHER BROS. TRANSFER & STORAGE, INC. maintains comprehensive carrier liability coverage as mandated by FMCSA regulations. While we treat every crate like it's our own, our contractual liability is limited to $0.50 per pound unless additional valuation is declared prior to dispatch. We don't want surprises; we want security.

Net-30 billing for established accounts. For new clients, we've implemented a digital escrow for immediate cargo releases.
Fuel Surcharge
Market rates fluctuate. We peg our surcharges to the EIA National Average to keep costs fair and predictable.
Detention Policy
Drivers deserve respect. After the first 2 hours of loading, detention rates apply. It's about respecting time.
1. Scope of Services
MAHER BROS. TRANSFER & STORAGE, INC. acts as both a motor carrier and a logistics forwarder. We don't just move boxes; we manage supply chains. Our services include freight transportation, cargo consolidation, and transit management. All forwarding operations are subject to the specific rules of the bill of lading issued at pickup.
2. Claims and Disputes
Did something go wrong? Claims for loss or damage must be filed within 9 months of delivery. We've established an internal audit team to resolve disputes within 60 days. Our location in Oak Brook, IL, remains the primary jurisdiction for all legal proceedings.
We're committed to a resolution-first approach. Most issues don't need lawyers; they need communication.
3. Warehouse Storage
When utilizing our warehouses for freight transportation, items are stored under General Warehouse Receipt terms. Items abandoned for more than 90 days may be subject to lien sale processes as allowed by local Du Page county laws.
